Full Day Istanbul Tour - Explore the Magnificent Old City
After we welcome you at Istanbul port or pick you up from your hotel, you will enjoy an extensive tour of Istanbul, which has in the past been the capital city of three empires and nowadays is the only city in the world to be located in two continents, Europe and Asia.
Our first visit will be to the legendary Hagia Sophia, which was built 1,500 years ago as the first cathedral of the world. It was the biggest and last construction of The Roman Empire.
Next we will visit the famous Blue Mosque, completed in 1616.
After leaving the Blue Mosque we will explore the Hippodrome, the stadium of ancient Byzantium.
We then travel about two kilometres to where you will have free time in one of the oldest shopping places in the world, the Grand Bazaar, which was built at the command of Fatih Sultan Mehmet. Within the Grand Bazaar can be found 4,399 shops, 497 stalls, 2,195 workshops and 17 fountains.
Finally, we will visit the Topkapi Palace, which was built on the orders of Mehmet the Conqueror. Construction of the Palace began in 1461, shortly after his conquest of the city, and it served as the administrative centre of the Ottoman Empire and seat of the Sultans until 1968.
